Christopher Vlcek of Littlewolf Architecture* has been serving customers in the Berkshires and beyond for over 15 years. During this time many creative projects have been completed through a wide range of scales and budgets. Prior to this Chris worked with other Architects here in the United States and in Canada, where he grew up and studied architecture. Back in Toronto he also partnered with a colleague to create the construction/design firm, Small Building Company. He gained there an appreciation for craftsmanship and project management first hand. There was found the satisfaction of making something with one’s own hands and a direct understanding of how buildings are put together. That experience has ingrained his designs with a certain practicality and constructability to balance a healthy spirit of invention.
Residential architecture is very much a personal service. Depending on project scope, it can involve a relationship that spans several years and involve one of the largest investments of one’s life. We believe in finding a balance between creative aspirations and practical use, between imagination and a budget that doesn’t strain one’s life. A good way to get a further sense of our approach is to peruse some of our work and blog entries here on-line, or give us a call or email to get a conversation started.
*If you are curious about our name it comes from Vlcek (pronounced vul- like pull- check) which literally means wolf-little in Czech. You might see the geometry of wolf-like features in our logo, which also refers to intersecting roof planes and to the art of origami.
